“Bolton Café Horror: Customer Stabbed in Disturbing CCTV Footage”

Published on

CCTV footage recently captured a disturbing incident where a customer was stabbed at a café located in Bolton.

The attack took place at The Deli on Tonge Moor Road, with a video circulating on social media showing a man entering the café brandishing a knife and then attacking a customer seated at a table amidst the screams of the staff. The video footage has not been shared by The Mirror.

Following the assault, the victim stood up, retaliated by punching the alleged attacker, and managed to disarm him. The alleged attacker then appeared composed before taking a seat.

Reports indicate that this incident was the second knife attack within a brief period, with authorities linking the two incidents. Earlier, a man armed with a knife reportedly left a nearby property and stabbed someone along Tonge Moor Road, resulting in superficial injuries.

Subsequently, the same individual entered The Deli and targeted the customer as seen in the footage. Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the victim are not deemed life-threatening, partly attributed to the clothing worn at the time which may have mitigated the severity of the harm. It is also noted that neither victim was acquainted with the attacker.

A man in his fifties has been apprehended on suspicion of assault, as confirmed by Greater Manchester Police (GMP). Authorities are treating the incidents as connected and possibly linked to mental health issues.

In response to the incident, The Deli released a statement on Facebook reassuring customers of their safety and cooperation with the police investigation. The establishment expressed gratitude to a customer who assisted during the incident and announced complimentary orders for life.

Due to the disruption caused, The Deli temporarily closed for the day, promising to update customers once they resume operations. They apologized for any inconvenience and thanked patrons for their understanding.

Police presence was notable on Tonge Moor Road as investigations continued, with two men being treated for stab wounds at the scene. The GMP mentioned being alerted to a stabbing incident on Tonge Moor Road around 10:30 am, leading to the arrest of a man in his fifties for questioning.
