British Woman Travels to Switzerland for Assisted Dying (Image: Facebook)
In a poignant assisted dying case, Wendy Duffy, a 56-year-old British mother, made the decision to end her life despite not being terminally ill and traveled to a Swiss suicide clinic.
Hailing from the West Midlands, the former care worker, Wendy Duffy, paid £10,000 to access the services of the Pegasos clinic in Switzerland. Her decision to pursue assisted dying was influenced by the tragic loss of her son Marcus at the young age of 23, four years ago.
Despite undergoing extensive therapy and taking antidepressants over the years, Wendy struggled to come to terms with the death of her son. She joins a growing number of Britons who have opted to travel to Switzerland for assisted dying following the initial reading of the UK’s Assisted Dying Bill in the House of Lords on June 23, 2025.
