Carol McGiffin has expressed remorse over her marriage to TFI Friday presenter Chris Evans while reflecting on their past relationship. The couple got married in 1991 but divorced seven years later.
During a recent appearance on the Suddenly Single podcast by Best Magazine, the former Loose Women star admitted to questioning the decision to marry in the first place. She mentioned not understanding the reasons for their marriage and confessed to not liking him for a significant part of their time together.
In a previous Loose Women episode, Carol revealed feeling “swept along” in the relationship and convinced herself that she couldn’t live without him. She also suggested that it was Chris who pushed for marriage, denying any influence from financial considerations.
After their split, Carol found love with Mark Cassidy at a Loose Women wrap party in 2008. They eloped and had a private ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand, keeping it a secret from their loved ones.
Reflecting on their wedding day, Carol described it as somewhat unfortunate due to an injury she had, preventing her from dressing up. She mentioned that Mark wore shorts, while she had to wear long trousers because of a knee bandage.
Chris, who has been married three times, tied the knot with Billie Piper in 2001, followed by Natasha Shishmanian in 2007. He and Natasha have four children together, in addition to Chris’s older daughter, Jade, from a previous relationship.
On his Virgin Radio breakfast show, Chris has openly discussed his family life, including revealing that he and his wife temporarily had separate sleeping arrangements after the birth of their twins, Boo and Walt. He shared that his wife slept on a different floor with the twins, emphasizing how well it worked for them and that it was a temporary solution as their family adjusted to having four children.
