Thousands of individuals encountered problems while using ChatGPT earlier today. Over 7,600 users reported issues with OpenAI, the platform behind the application, starting around 3:20 pm. Users faced warnings of “unusual activity on their mobile phones” and difficulties loading previous chats or initiating new ones.
Numerous ChatGPT users expressed frustration over their inability to start new conversations within the app. One user shared, “When using the IOS app, existing conversations remain accessible, but any attempts to add to them or start new chats result in an error message stating ‘hmmm something seems to have gone wrong.’ I have not lost saved conversations yet, unlike others who have. I utilize the paid version of ChatGPT through the app for its faster responsiveness and reduced lag, when it functions correctly.”
Users have taken to sharing screenshots of error messages showing phrases like “Hmm… something seems to have gone wrong.” An observed spike in reported issues with ChatGPT is evident from a graph detailing complaints today.
According to Downdetector, more than 7,600 problem reports were logged with OpenAI, the operator of ChatGPT, from the afternoon. The reports indicate that 87% of the issues are related to using ChatGPT specifically.
