Another tragic incident has occurred in France as a child lost his life due to being trapped inside a hot car during the country’s intense heatwave. The unfortunate incident took place in Saint-Gratien, northern Paris, where a three-year-old child was discovered lifeless by his parents on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services were alerted around 7pm when the child was found unresponsive inside the family vehicle, experiencing a cardiac arrest as temperatures soared to 39C in the area. Despite firefighters’ attempts to revive the child, he could not be saved.
According to reports, the child had locked himself inside the parked car without informing anyone. His parents had briefly lost sight of him for about 45 minutes, during which he had expressed a desire to nap. Despite being asked to go to his room by his parents, he chose to lock himself in the car for unknown reasons.
After realizing the child was missing, his parents began searching and eventually found him motionless in the car outside their home. The mother’s distressful cries caught the attention of a passing bus driver who leaped over the gate and administered first aid until emergency services arrived.
This tragedy follows a similar incident earlier in the week where two children, aged two and four, were found unconscious inside a car in Carpentras, France, during the relentless heatwave. Despite rescue efforts, both children tragically passed away, leading to the commencement of a manslaughter investigation.
