Britain is set to experience a drop in morning temperatures, with some regions seeing lows as chilly as 7°C, according to UK weather maps. The ECMWF weather model indicates that cooler weather will envelop much of the country in the coming days.

On Friday, August 7, areas spanning Scotland, England, and Wales could see temperatures dip as low as 7°C by 6 am. Scotland is expected to be the coldest region, with most areas registering below 10°C. Meanwhile, southern regions like Durham, Devon, and Warwickshire may also experience temperatures below 10°C on Friday morning.

The Met Office has cautioned that following a wet spell, conditions are likely to transition to drier conditions starting Thursday, with a forecast of a “rather changeable” weather pattern, including cooler temperatures but with intermittent sunny spells.

The cold weather spell is predicted to persist, with morning temperatures potentially reaching 7°C on Tuesday, August 11. The Met Office’s forecast for August 7 to August 16 suggests variable conditions with periods of rain or showers alongside drier intervals. Towards mid-August, higher pressure may dominate the northern UK regions, with a possibility of lower pressure in the south, increasing the likelihood of Atlantic frontal systems or thundery weather affecting southern areas.
