Princess Kate, who is expected to become Queen in the future, is widely recognized as a notable alumna of Marlborough College. However, she is not the only famous individual to have attended the prestigious institution.
Jack Whitehall, a host of this year’s Brit Awards held at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, also has ties to the school. The Duchess of Cambridge enrolled at Marlborough College in 1996, seeking refuge from reported bullying at her previous school. She completed her studies in 2000 with an impressive academic record, achieving 11 GCSEs and A-level grades of As in Mathematics and Art, along with a B in English.
Comedian Jack Whitehall, who was a few years junior to Kate, reminisced about their shared school days during the Royal Variety Performance in 2014. He humorously acknowledged their connection to the audience, revealing a slightly “inappropriate” secret regarding his schoolboy crush on the future Queen.
During the performance, Jack playfully confessed to Kate about his childhood infatuation with her, eliciting laughter from the audience. Prince William, seated nearby, humorously responded to Jack’s revelation, adding a light-hearted touch to the encounter.
This isn’t the first time Jack has teased Kate in a public setting. Reflecting on a previous event at Kensington Palace where he made jests about Kate being the “one that got away,” Jack humorously recounted his awkward encounter with the royal couple.
