Mo Gilligan, a 38-year-old comedian from Lambeth, London, initially gained fame by sharing comedic videos on his social media platforms while working at a clothing store. His talent lies in observational comedy, where he skillfully mimics various characters, such as a group of girls on a night out or a quirky uncle.

His short, humorous Instagram clips quickly garnered a large following, with viewers often ending up in fits of laughter. Starting his career as a retail assistant at Levi’s, Mo’s popularity soared as customers would visit the store just to meet him.

In 2017, Mo’s career took a major turn when rapper Drake noticed his online humor, propelling him into the spotlight. His parody video titled ‘Cockney guys when they see a bit of sun’ caught Drake’s attention, leading to widespread recognition.

Since then, Mo has achieved significant success in stand-up comedy, selling out his UK tour within minutes. He went on to co-host Channel 4’s The Big Narstie Show and later landed his own program, The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan.

Additionally, Mo is a panelist on ITV’s The Masked Singer, has hosted the Brit Awards, and regularly appears on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside actor and comedian Babatunde Aleshe. Born in London, Mo has Welsh roots, thanks to his mother, who hails from Barry, and supported the Welsh football team at the 2016 Euros.

In personal life, Mo was previously in a relationship with actress Sophie Wise before they separated amicably in 2022. Following this, he became a father in 2024 to his son, Rudi, with Selina Christoforou. Mo is now engaged to model Taia Tulher, and they welcomed a newborn in the summer of 2025. Taia, a London-based model, has collaborated with prestigious brands like Chanel for various campaigns.
