Police in a UK city center have provided an update following an incident where seven individuals were hospitalized. The event occurred in Friar Gate, Derby, around 9:30 pm on March 28. At the time, Friar Gate was bustling, resulting in seven people sustaining serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A 36-year-old Derby resident, originally from India, was apprehended under suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody for interrogation. The occurrence involved a black Suzuki Swift, as per reports from Derbyshire Live.

A spokesperson from Derbyshire Police mentioned that detectives are continuing their investigations after an extension was granted for the suspect’s custody. The police are urging anyone with footage or who witnessed the incident to come forward to aid in the inquiry.

The police force stressed the importance of contacting them if individuals have CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone recordings of the incident. They are particularly interested in footage of the Suzuki Swift before or after the event and have provided the possible route taken by the suspect after the incident.
