An emergency department physician was attacked with a knife at a hospital in West London, leading to the arrest of a man on suspicion of attempted murder. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident that occurred at Hillingdon Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, May 26.

Police, present at the hospital for an unrelated matter, responded to the attack and apprehended a 27-year-old individual suspected of attempted murder and causing serious bodily harm. The injured doctor, in his 50s, was treated for non-life-threatening and non-life-altering injuries, reportedly stemming from mental health issues.
