An easyJet flight bound for Glasgow had to make an unexpected landing in Liverpool. The flight, EJU7357, departed from Palma de Mallorca Airport around 6:40 pm on Sunday, May 31, with Glasgow Airport as its intended destination.
Originally scheduled to land in Scotland at approximately 8:45 pm, the Airbus A319 was diverted to Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Following the diversion, easyJet issued an apology to the affected passengers, attributing the incident to circumstances beyond their control, as reported by the Daily Record.
In an online communication to passengers, easyJet expressed regret over the diversion to Liverpool, apologized for the inconvenience, and assured passengers of their commitment to resume the journey to Glasgow promptly.
Earlier in the week, an easyJet flight, U251, traveling from the Isle of Man to Liverpool, was compelled to declare a mid-air emergency and divert to Manchester Airport due to an aborted landing attempt. The flight safely landed in Manchester at 4:05 pm on May 24.
