Emmerdale and Happy Valley actor Frazer Hammill, aged 41, was discovered deceased following police questioning. An inquest revealed that he had taken his own life and left a note for a neighbor on December 30, 2025, shortly after being detained by Lancashire Police.

The area coroner, Louise Slater, determined that Hammill’s cause of death was hanging. Emergency services attempted to resuscitate him upon arrival at his residence, but he was pronounced dead at 2.13pm. The coroner stated that Hammill had left additional notes for his family and friends, indicating a deliberate and premeditated action.

Hammill’s sister, Caroline, expressed shock over his passing, noting that the family was unaware of his struggles. Custody officers testified that Hammill appeared in good spirits after his arrest, with no apparent concerns for his well-being.
