One individual has lost their life and another is in critical condition following an incident involving an active shooter at an airport.
The Elko Regional Airport in Nevada, USA, has been shut down due to reports of an active shooter situation on Monday, April 13.
Lieutenant Shane Daz from the Elko Police Department stated that authorities received notice of an active shooter at 12.30pm local time on Monday. Upon arrival, one individual was discovered deceased.
According to KSL TV, the deceased individual is a minor.
In a statement, the Elko Police Department mentioned, “Police are examining a crime scene at the Elko Airport. The airport is currently inaccessible to all traffic. Updates on its reopening will be provided soon.”
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
