A well-known hotel located at an airport had to be evacuated following a fire that erupted on the third floor of the building. Firefighters were summoned to the Hampton by Hilton Hotel at Stansted Airport before 10:30 am and confirmed a fire on the third floor, which accommodates numerous guest rooms.

As a safety measure, the hotel was cleared out while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and secure the premises, according to a report by Essex Live. Everyone, including both staff and guests, was safely evacuated, and there were no reported injuries. The fire was successfully put out by 11:15 am, approximately half an hour after the arrival of the firefighters, stated a spokesperson from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.

Following the extinguishing of the fire, fire crews remained on-site to ventilate the building using high-pressure fans to disperse any remaining smoke. An investigation is currently ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Station Manager Dan Byatt expressed, “We collaborated closely with Stansted Airport, Essex Police, and other relevant agencies to handle the situation efficiently and ensure that flight schedules were not disrupted. Thanks to the swift actions of the emergency crews and our partners, we were able to swiftly contain the fire and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.”
