Fitness Enthusiast Father tragically loses battle to cancer

Published on

A father of four who initially thought his severe leg pain was due to sciatica has tragically passed away after discovering it was an indication of a fast-progressing cancer. Joe Till, aged 33 and known for his passion for fitness and hiking, sought medical help multiple times for leg discomfort, only to be diagnosed with stage four diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, a high-speed blood cancer. Despite efforts by the NHS, Joe was informed that his time may be limited, and he succumbed to the illness on May 17. A fundraising campaign has gathered over £13,500 to aid his wife and children, with his funeral scheduled for May 29.

The realization that something serious was wrong occurred in 2024 when Joe started feeling leg pains. His condition worsened to the point where he struggled to climb stairs, prompting him to seek medical attention. Diagnosed with cancer in July 2024, Joe endured extensive treatment that eventually led to a loss of mobility in his upper body.

Despite brief periods of stability during treatment, the cancer resurfaced, leaving Joe with limited options. A fundraiser was initiated to support his family and ensure their well-being. Joe’s family shared the heartbreaking news of his passing, highlighting his courageous battle and his wish for a joyous celebration of his life. The fundraiser has seen a generous response, with over £13,700 raised from 471 donations towards the £30,000 target to assist Joe’s loved ones during this challenging time.

For those wanting to offer support, the GoFundMe page is open for contributions. Joe’s family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support received, acknowledging the profound impact Joe had on those around him.
