A woman testified at Southwark Crown Court that a former Conservative Member of Parliament, Patrick Spencer, behaved inappropriately by groping her breasts at the Groucho club in London. The incident allegedly occurred when Spencer, the MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, forcefully grabbed the women from behind during a night out in August 2023.

The first woman recounted feeling shocked and uncomfortable when Spencer persistently engaged her in conversation and attempted to buy her a cocktail before touching her breasts. She described him as a nuisance and stated that she was taken aback by his actions.

The second woman stated that she froze when Spencer cupped her breasts, emphasizing the forcefulness of the act. She detailed the experience of being grabbed before managing to pull away from him.

Despite the accusations, Spencer, who was stripped of the Conservative whip in Parliament following the charges, denies the claims. The trial revealed conflicting testimonies regarding the alleged assaults, with the women asserting that Spencer’s actions were unwarranted and invasive.
