Kate Cassidy has addressed rumors about rehoming the dog she shared with her late boyfriend Liam Payne. The 27-year-old social media influencer clarified that she still resides with the dog, despite being absent for three weeks on a trip to Mantauk, New York.

During her time away, some followers speculated that she might have given up Nala, a rescue dog she and One Direction star Payne adopted before his passing, as she was away for an extended period. However, upon her return, Cassidy dispelled the speculations.

Taking to her Instagram stories, she shared a photo of Nala with a caption that read: “Reunited!!! No, I didn’t rehome Nala. You guys are funny. I had a family friend stay at my apartment with her.”

She emphasized the importance of having someone care for pets at home when away for an extended period, as it helps the animals feel more comfortable and settled in their familiar environment.

In another post, Cassidy uploaded a picture of Nala looking perplexed, with questioning marks around the dog’s head, and added a caption jokingly referencing the rehoming rumors.

Cassidy and Payne were a couple when he tragically passed away in 2024 after falling from a balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Despite attempting to move on and date again, Cassidy recently experienced a breakup after struggling with comparisons to Payne in her relationships. In a candid TikTok video, she expressed her discontent with being single again following the breakup and shared her challenges in finding someone who measures up to her late boyfriend.

She admitted to seeking qualities reminiscent of Payne in her partners and acknowledged feeling upset when they didn’t meet those expectations. This ultimately led to her recent breakup, where she disclosed that she was dumped as a result of her tendency to compare her current partner to Payne.
