Liam Payne reportedly descended into a fit of anger fueled by alcohol and drugs before his untimely passing, as per statements from two individuals claiming to have spent time with the former One Direction member on the day of his death. The 31-year-old singer tragically died after falling 46 feet from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16, 2024.

Information obtained by the Mail on Sunday reveals the accounts provided by Aldana Serrano and Lucila Goitea, who were interviewed by investigators shortly after Liam’s fatal accident. The pair asserted that they were summoned to the CasaSur Palermo Hotel by Liam earlier that day and engaged in consensual activities with him.

According to the women, Liam grew increasingly agitated when faced with difficulty in paying an agreed-upon fee of $5,000 (£3,700) due to a lack of access to cash. They alleged that the singer destroyed his £30,000 gold Rolex and boasted about his wealth before purportedly damaging the hotel television in a fit of rage.

Following the incident, Liam reportedly calmed down, knelt down, and pleaded with the women to stay. They claimed he expressed that money did not bring him happiness, sang his own songs while intoxicated, and later requested cocaine.

A post-mortem toxicology report disclosed the presence of alcohol, cocaine, and the potent sedative Klonopin in Liam’s system at the time of his fatal fall.

Liam had arrived in Argentina 16 days before his demise while awaiting the renewal of his US visa. He had spent most of his time with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy and businessman Rogelio “Roger” Nores during the trip. It was reported that Liam remained sober during the initial two weeks of his visit until Kate departed for Miami on October 14, and Nores also left the country.

The singer reportedly checked out of the upscale Park Hyatt after purportedly causing damage to his room and engaging in a heated disagreement with the staff. Subsequently, he relocated to the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where he allegedly reached out to the two women after discovering one of their profiles online.

As per their statements, Liam shared images of himself in bed and a verification video to confirm his identity to one of the women who initially doubted his identity. The women stated that they arrived at the hotel around 11:30 a.m., presented identification at the reception, and were granted access to his room.

Due to a language barrier—Liam spoke only English while the women spoke Spanish—they relied on a translation app for communication. They emphasized that their encounter with Liam involved consensual activity, occurred only once, and involved the use of protection.

After spending approximately two hours with Liam, the women requested the agreed payment, to which Liam allegedly offered his Rolex instead when he couldn’t provide the cash. When they declined the offer, he reportedly destroyed the watch, claiming indifference towards money.

One of the women recounted, “We insisted on payment, so he grabbed it and smashed it. He stated that money was irrelevant to him. Subsequently, he destroyed the TV by punching it, indicating his ability to cover the costs.”

The women decided to depart, alleging that Liam followed them to the hotel lobby, where they informed the staff about the property damage and unpaid sum. They returned briefly to retrieve forgotten items, with Liam apologizing for the inconvenience.

The women left the premises before 4 p.m., with Liam purportedly displaying erratic behavior before returning to his room. His fatal fall occurred at 5:07 p.m., with the women learning about the tragedy through social media reports and subsequently providing statements to the authorities.
