Freeview users are advised to promptly check their settings and perform a retune on their devices following the recent update rollout. The popular UK TV platform has introduced changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Several broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure that channels and the TV guide remain current.
Noteworthy updates include the rebranding of three channels with new names, visible in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now That’s 20th Century, featuring music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, and That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now known simply as That’s Classics.
In addition to the rebrands, a new channel called That’s Entertainment is set to launch on Channel 75. Although program listings are not widely available yet, more information is expected soon. Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of the ongoing changes by broadcasters to ensure varied and up-to-date content.
Users with Freeview should observe these changes on their TV planner. If not, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Your device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, underscoring the importance of retuning sooner rather than later.
