Graham Norton Sells NY Cottage, Launches Reality TV Series

Published on

Renowned TV host Graham Norton expressed his yearning for a past lifestyle change, labeling it as “heartbreaking.” Norton, aged 63, is widely known for his chat show and Eurovision coverage on the BBC.

Recently, Norton launched a new reality TV series called The Neighbourhood, where six households relocate to a Peak District village to participate in a large-scale game show, vying for a prize of £250,000 by maintaining good relationships with their neighbors.

In a significant move, Norton sold his ivy-clad cottage in New York for £8 million. The property, situated in Sniffen Court, an area frequented by celebrities like Lenny Kravitz and composer Cole Porter, was part of his real estate portfolio.

During an episode of the Off Menu podcast, comedian James Acaster noted Norton’s frequent presence in the United States, to which Norton acknowledged a reduced visitation rate. Norton expressed his fondness for New York, describing its food scene as “amazing,” comparing it favorably to London.

Approximately a year ago, Norton listed his East London property and his New York residence for sale. The Wapping townhouse, overlooking the River Thames, was put on the market with an asking price of £5 million. Norton, reflecting on his emotional connection to houses in his memoir, So Me, revealed that the decision to sell had been brewing for a couple of years before taking the plunge.

Regarding his London residence, Norton reminisced about enjoyable evenings by the river. While maintaining a residence in the capital, Norton also owns a property in West Cork, where he celebrated his marriage to husband Jonathan McLeod, praising the Irish coastline as idyllic.

Norton’s new 11-part series, The Neighbourhood, premieres tonight on ITV 1 and ITVX. Norton emphasized the uniqueness of the show’s format, describing it as a fresh concept that delves into the dynamics of households, highlighting the intrigue of interpersonal interactions within the community.
