A woman hiking alone in Washington state was found with severe head injuries after falling while climbing Bridal Veil Falls. The experienced hiker, Jacque Tietijen, was discovered unconscious at the base of a slope by fellow hikers who followed a trail of blood. She was airlifted to Utah Valley Hospital for treatment of brain bleeds, skull fractures, and a tear in her carotid artery.
Jacque’s family expressed gratitude towards the hikers who rendered aid, mentioning that their quick actions likely saved her life. She is currently hospitalized and closely monitored for brain swelling, with the possibility of emergency surgery if necessary. Despite her extensive hiking experience, the family was shocked by the accident.
A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to support Jacque’s recovery, highlighting her passion for outdoor activities and determination to overcome the challenges ahead. She remains in the ICU under sedation, with plans for further treatment in the neurology unit. The family emphasized the importance of community support to alleviate the financial burden during this difficult time.
