Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege she engaged in fraudulent behavior by not meeting her obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup. The investors had put in around $1.2 million US ($1.67 million) into Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with the aim of enhancing users’ “mental fitness,” as stated in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware.
The investors claim they were assured that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, they argue that Gomez and other company executives failed to uphold their commitments, such as failing to create a mobile app.
According to the lawsuit, Gomez allegedly signed a contract to fulfill her obligations but did not follow through. The investors also assert that the company did not have a viable business plan and did not meet its basic responsibilities, such as timely payment to employees and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comment. The lawsuit reveals that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until a news report surfaced online in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
