Jesy Nelson’s Ex Reveals Twins’ Life-Threatening Condition

Published on

Jesy Nelson’s former partner, Zion Foster, expressed feeling overwhelmed upon learning that their twin daughters are facing a life-threatening condition. The revelation came to light in a new documentary on Prime, where the Little Mix singer broke down in tears, expressing her fear of enduring lifelong heartbreak.

In the documentary, Zion candidly admitted, “I feel ill-equipped to handle this situation. I am struggling emotionally, physically, and mentally. I am just trying to survive, and I need support.” Jesy echoed his sentiments, acknowledging the immense challenge ahead, stating, “We are both wondering how we will manage this, but we must. We have no choice. It’s incredibly tough.”

Observing Zion’s distress, Jesy remarked, “I can see how much he is struggling. It’s difficult for a 26-year-old to be thrust into this situation suddenly. I can sense his anxiety about the future.” Despite their separation, Jesy emphasized that she maintains a cordial relationship with her ex but believes that their daughters’ condition played a significant role in their breakup.

The twins were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a rare genetic disorder causing muscle weakness and potential fatality if not detected early. Jesy is determined to raise awareness about the condition and has been advocating for expanded newborn testing within the NHS since the diagnosis.

Reflecting on the impact of the diagnosis on their relationship, Jesy acknowledged the inevitability of their breakup, attributing it to the strain caused by their daughters’ condition. She emphasized that their primary focus remains on providing the best care for their children amidst the challenging circumstances.

Jesy has been actively campaigning for newborn screening for SMA nationwide, expressing disappointment over the limited access to testing. She has participated in parliamentary discussions and vowed to continue advocating for change to ensure early detection and intervention for affected infants.

The documentary “Jesy Nelson: Life Changing” is set to premiere on Prime on July 17, shedding light on Jesy’s personal journey and her commitment to raising awareness about SMA.
