Justin Baldoni has broken his silence after a contentious legal dispute with Blake Lively, expressing that he and his family are still dealing with the aftermath of the “trauma” caused by the “injustice and pain” they faced during their conflict with his co-star.
In a heartfelt social media post, the director of “It Ends With Us” and actor, accompanied by his wife, Emily Baldoni, addressed the public about their two-year struggle with Lively following their collaboration on a 2024 Colleen Hoover film adaptation.
The couple disclosed that they had chosen to remain silent during the intense legal battle to allow the judicial process to unfold. Justin explained the delay in speaking out, stating that they had refrained from making public statements despite having much to say because it never felt like the right time.
Emily shared that the legal dispute had left deep scars on their family, prompting them to grapple with the situation and question how such a conflict could occur, especially under the guise of advocating for women. She acknowledged the emotional toll it had taken on them, making it challenging to address the issue publicly.
Reflecting on the past years dominated by the case, Justin expressed their reluctance to contribute to the noise surrounding the matter, opting to let the legal system handle the proceedings. The legal saga concluded recently with a federal judge ruling in favor of Blake Lively, ordering Justin and Wayfarer Studios to cover her legal expenses amounting to $8,035,040.88.
While most of Lively’s claims were dismissed, three allegations, including breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting in retaliation, were allowed to proceed. With the legal battle now behind them, Justin noted that the experience had brought his family closer together and shifted their perspectives on life.
