European leaders, including Sir Keir Starmer, have been accused by Russia’s foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, of openly preparing for conflict with the Russian Federation. Lavrov made these assertions during a press conference detailing Russia’s diplomatic activities over the past year, as reported by state-owned news agency TASS. He specifically mentioned politicians such as Kaja Kallas, Ursula von der Leyen, Friedrich Merz, Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, and Mark Rutte, stating that they are actively gearing up for a potential war with Russia.

Lavrov also addressed the situation in Ukraine, emphasizing that Russia needs to address the underlying causes of the crisis. He argued that Western efforts over the years have aimed to portray Ukraine as a threat to Russia’s security, establish a hostile presence on Russia’s borders, and support what he referred to as a “Nazi regime” that took power following the 2014 coup.

By labeling the Ukrainian government as a “Nazi regime,” Lavrov reiterated the Kremlin’s perspective that Russia’s intervention in Ukraine is justified as part of a “denazification” campaign. Russia views the post-2014 government in Ukraine as illegitimate and influenced by the West.

Furthermore, Lavrov claimed that the Ukrainian government is actively pursuing policies aimed at eradicating Russian influence across various aspects of society, including education, language, culture, media, and even the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
