Liam Gallagher and the woman claiming he fathered her child are embroiled in a new legal battle over child support exceeding £500,000 for their daughter. Liza Ghorbani, the mother of their 12-year-old daughter Gemma, is seeking a higher annual support payment due to the child’s autism and special educational needs. The court proceedings took place remotely in New York recently.
Liza and Gemma reside in a rented apartment in New York costing £3,300 per month. They are requesting an increase in support to cover expenses like a home with a pool at £22,500 monthly, a live-in nanny at £75,000, and an annual holiday budget of £5,000. Liam had previously criticized the child support demands.
Reports indicated that Liam’s lawyer mentioned Liza’s request for more money was tied to Liam’s upcoming music project, hinting at his lucrative tour plans with Oasis. Oasis reportedly earned £303 million from their recent tour, ranking high among top global earners. Liam’s representatives declined to comment, and the judge has sealed the case for Gemma’s privacy following a financial scrutiny motion by Liza.
According to The Sun, Liza and Liam traded accusations during the court proceedings. Liza accused Liam of badmouthing her, while Liam claimed she misused funds meant for their daughter’s care. Liza’s lawyer highlighted Liam’s lack of involvement with Gemma and alleged deceit regarding previous financial agreements.
Since a prior court order in 2015, Liam has already paid over $1 million (£738,000) in child support. He agreed to an additional $240,000 (£177,000) in 2021 for Gemma’s education and care after her autism diagnosis. Liza is now seeking approximately $690,000 (£510,000) annually from Liam, including $420,000 for day-to-day expenses and an extra lump sum of $250,000.
Liam, a father of three older children, fathered Gemma during his marriage to Nicole Appleton. The affair became public when Liza’s pregnancy was revealed in 2014. Liza has expressed concerns about Gemma’s well-being and accused Liam of neglecting his responsibilities towards their daughter.
