Louise Thompson and Ryan Libbey Exit Podcast After Backlash

Published on

Louise Thompson and her fiancé, Ryan Libbey, have made the decision to step away from their podcast, He Said, She Said, following continuous criticism and a series of what he described as “challenging episodes.”

The former Made in Chelsea personality and her future husband have encountered backlash over time for some of their viewpoints and remarks, particularly when discussing potty training.

The pair, who promoted their podcast as an ‘uncensored’ conversation, appeared to make remarks that appeared to mock children who are not fully potty trained when they enter school. Louise expressed shock at the statistic that one in four children go to school before being fully toilet trained, and chuckled when Ryan commented, “That’s a tough situation” for teachers who have to handle it.

She further commented, suggesting that some parents may opt for the easy way out when faced with a crying and challenging child. This led to criticism from upset fans who labeled her as “privileged” and condemned the discussion as “offensive and disheartening,” highlighting that there are various reasons why children may not be fully toilet trained before starting school.

In response to the backlash, Louise issued an apology on Instagram, expressing regret over unintentionally offending many individuals, especially children facing their own difficulties.

Now, the couple has chosen to conclude their podcast and put away their microphones. Revealing their decision on He Said, She Said, Louise shared, “For a while, we’ve been heavily focused on work, and I think it’s time for us to take a break for ourselves.”

She explained, “Our son will begin school in September, and we have also been open about our fertility journey leading up to this point.” She continued, “We are at an exciting juncture, progressing rapidly. Hence, we are pausing the podcast for a period as we enter what seems like a new phase in our lives.”

Joining in, Ryan mentioned, “We’ve had some challenging episodes mixed with fun moments, providing us with a chance to grow as a couple.”

Louise concluded by expressing gratitude for the continuous support and acknowledging the joy of building a community through the podcast.

While facing their own share of challenges, many listeners have appreciated the podcast and commended the couple for sharing their fertility struggles, as Louise and Ryan openly discussed their difficulties in conceiving.
