A 36-year-old man named Edward Holden, residing in Alexandra Place, Penzance, has been formally accused of committing rape and murder following the tragic death of an elderly woman in the vicinity of Helston. The woman’s lifeless body was discovered at a residence in Ashton on Friday, May 29, leading to Holden’s arrest and subsequent remand in custody. He is scheduled to face charges at Truro Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 1, as reported by Cornwall Live.
