Martin Brundle, the Formula One presenter, experienced an awkward moment during an interview with actor Hugh Grant at Silverstone on Sunday. Hugh Grant, a renowned Hollywood actor, was present at the British Grand Prix, where Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc emerged as the winner.
Martin, a seasoned Formula One reporter, enjoys engaging with celebrities in the paddock while navigating through the VIP section with his microphone. However, during this particular interview, he mistakenly asked Hugh about a TV series in which the actor had never appeared. Martin, clarifying that it was just a quick chat, inquired, “Are you doing another round of The Gentlemen soon? Because I really loved that.”
Seemingly not hearing Martin, Hugh leaned in as Martin repeated his question about the TV series. Hugh appeared puzzled before explaining that he was in a film titled “The Gentleman” but not a TV series, stating, “Well, I did the film of The Gentlemen, I haven’t seen the TV series.”
Martin, looking surprised, quickly concluded the conversation by mentioning time constraints due to the national anthem playing soon. Although Hugh was not part of Netflix’s “The Gentlemen,” he starred in the 2020 action-comedy film with the same title, portraying the character Fletcher, a private investigator chasing information about drug lord Mickey Pearson.
Further celebrity sightings at the Grand Prix included Adele, who sported a casual look wearing a t-shirt honoring Lando Norris and his McLaren racing team, along with a necklace spelling out ‘mummy.’ Queen guitarist Brian May was also spotted at the event, engaging in conversations at the Ferrari garage before the race.
Additionally, Stacey Solomon, known for the show “Sort Your Life Out,” attended the Grand Prix with her husband Joe Swash, enjoying a kid-free day alongside F1 enthusiast Stacey’s dad, Dave, and her ex-boyfriend, Dean, who was accompanied by his wife. Stacey shared moments from the event, highlighting the group’s enjoyment at the race.
