Minneapolis experienced another night of disturbances following an incident where an ICE agent shot a person shortly after the tragic killing of Renee Good, a mother of three.

According to Homeland Security, a federal officer shot a man in the leg around 7pm local time following a car pursuit to apprehend an individual described as an “illegal alien from Venezuela.” The man being pursued allegedly crashed into a vehicle and tried to escape on foot before two individuals from a nearby apartment intervened. The DHS claimed that the officer was attacked by the two individuals, leading to the agent firing his weapon and injuring one of them.

The City of Minneapolis confirmed that the injured man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, while the ICE agent also received medical treatment for his injuries. Minneapolis Police chief Brian O’Hara stated that the FBI was investigating the shooting, with Mayor Jacob Frey criticizing the controversial actions of the immigration office.

Local residents gathered in protest against ICE and its actions, which have drawn global attention, particularly after the recent killing of Renee Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross. Protests intensified following this latest shooting as the Trump administration faced backlash for its response, including labeling the deceased mother as a “domestic terrorist” and deploying thousands of ICE officers to Minneapolis.
