A mother-of-three tragically passed away just five weeks after giving birth due to an undiagnosed heart condition, prompting her family to issue a crucial warning. Cathy MacGuinness, aged 40, suffered a cardiac arrest at home on Easter Sunday and was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, where she spent almost three weeks in a medically induced coma before succumbing on a Saturday evening.

Survived by her partner, Sebastian, and their three children – seven-year-old Zoe, three-year-old Rosie, and newborn Goldie – Ms. MacGuinness had dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition leading to heart enlargement and decreased blood-pumping efficiency. Her family believes that with timely diagnosis and treatment, she could have been saved.
