Alan Osmond, a prominent figure in the music industry, has passed away as confirmed by his family. Since his diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1987, Alan courageously battled the disease. The family expressed that Alan’s optimistic attitude served as an inspiration to many. He dedicated a significant amount of his time to speaking at MS events, providing support and guidance on coping with the challenges of the disease both mentally and physically. The family did not disclose the specific cause of his passing.

Alan rose to fame alongside his siblings after gaining recognition on The Andy Williams Show. Forming a barbershop quartet with his brothers Wayne, Merrill, and Jay at a young age of 12, they were later joined by their younger sibling Donny. Together, the group, known as The Osmonds, achieved global fame as a pop sensation during the 1970s.

A talented songwriter and composer, Alan played a key role in creating some of The Osmonds’ most iconic hits, such as One Bad Apple and Crazy Horses, which received critical acclaim. The group initially began performing to raise funds for hearing aids for their older brothers, Virl and Tom Osmond. Alan emphasized the importance of using their talents for a purpose and delivering a message of family unity through music.

Despite facing strict child labor laws limiting their working hours, the Osmond siblings, nicknamed the “One Take Osmonds,” devoted significant effort to perfecting their performances. Alan recalled their dedication to practicing at home to ensure flawless performances on stage.

Reflecting on his journey with MS, Alan shared a moment on stage when he couldn’t raise his hand, highlighting the challenges he faced. Drawing strength from his faith and his mother’s empowering words, he navigated his battle with resilience and determination.

Following the news of his passing, heartfelt tributes poured in from devastated fans. Expressing their sadness and admiration for Alan, fans shared memories of meeting him and the impact he had on their lives. Survived by his wife Suzanne, their eight children, 30 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, Alan leaves behind a lasting legacy in the music industry.
