Green Park station was closed to commuters this morning following a police incident involving a person on the tracks. The British Transport Police confirmed that the individual sustained severe injuries early today at around 8:20 am and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
The incident has caused significant disruptions across multiple Underground lines, leading to the closure of several stations for public access due to the extensive police presence. Specifically, there are no train services running between Waterloo and Finchley on the Jubilee Line, prompting passengers to seek alternative travel routes.
Stations affected by the closure include Waterloo, Westminster, Green Park, Bond Street, Baker Street, St John’s Wood, Swiss Cottage, and Finchley Road. Transport for London has announced the closure of the route from a key interchange in Camden since the incident occurred around 8:20 am.
According to the British Transport Police, emergency services responded to reports of the incident at Green Park Underground station earlier in the day. The police stated that an individual was transported to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, and investigations into the circumstances are ongoing.
Fire crews are also present at the scene, as confirmed by the London Fire Brigade, which reported their assistance at Green Park Underground Station. Additionally, the London Ambulance Service dispatched multiple resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics, and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, to provide immediate medical assistance.
Furthermore, the Hammersmith & City line experienced a temporary suspension due to a separate trespassing incident at Paddington station, but has now resumed with delays. Minor disruptions on the Bakerloo line are also reported due to train cancellations.
