Three security personnel at a nightclub in downtown Winnipeg have been formally accused of assault following an incident where a Winnipeg Sea Bears player sustained severe injuries earlier this month, according to local authorities. Teddy Allen was admitted to a hospital after being attacked at the nightclub during the early hours of August 3, as reported by the Canadian Elite Basketball League team. The individuals, aged 35, 37, and 58, who were employed at the venue, were taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with assault causing bodily harm. They have been released under conditions, stated the police in a press release on Thursday. While the nightclub’s identity was not disclosed, it was located on Main Street, between Portage and William avenues. Allen, who has undergone medical examinations and received treatment, is currently recuperating at home, as per a statement issued by the team. Expressing his thoughts on the assault, Allen emphasized that such incidents should never occur to anyone. He affirmed his resilience, stating that he will bounce back from this adversity as he always has in life.
