“Operation Red Card Ensures Safety for England Fans in Texas”

A major police operation known as Operation Red Card, designed to safeguard England supporters during the upcoming World Cup, has been hailed as a remarkable success. Law enforcement authorities have confiscated nearly 300 illegal firearms and substantial quantities of illicit substances in various towns and cities near the location of England’s debut match in Texas next month. Over 1,300 individuals have been apprehended in preparation for the England versus Croatia game in Dallas on June 18.

Ryan Raybould, the US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, referred to the apprehended individuals as “some of the most dangerous offenders.” Emphasizing the operation’s focus on enhancing security for the FIFA World Cup and purging the streets of criminal elements, Raybould expressed confidence in their readiness to uphold law and order.

With an influx of up to 15,000 England fans expected in the Dallas area to support their team, local authorities are vigilant. Significant quantities of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl, along with a cache of firearms and a substantial amount of cash, have been seized. The collaborative efforts between local and federal agencies have been commended by Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux for ensuring public safety.

Comeaux highlighted the successful fugitive operations carried out by the US Marshals Task Force, resulting in the arrest of over 1,300 individuals with felony warrants. The authorities are committed to maintaining a secure environment while also fostering a welcoming atmosphere for visitors through community engagement initiatives.

Jake Holmes, the US attorney for the Eastern District of Texas, underscored the interconnected nature of combatting illegal immigration and drug trafficking, noting the use of intelligence to disrupt criminal networks operating across borders. FBI Special Agent in Charge Joseph Rothrock cited the strategic security planning derived from past Super Bowls as a blueprint for the upcoming World Cup, emphasizing the unique scale of the tournament being hosted in multiple countries for the first time.

As preparations intensify for the upcoming matches in Dallas, officials are leveraging their experience from previous events to ensure a safe and successful FIFA World Cup.
