A depraved paedophile nursery worker, described as predatory and obsessive, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually assaulting young children and engaging in disturbing acts of child abuse. Vincent Chan, 45, was found guilty of assaulting four children and filming inappropriate content involving primary school girls. Chan’s heinous actions, which spanned 17 years, were uncovered when he was caught with over a million child abuse images.
The judge condemned Chan’s actions as utterly wicked and perverse, highlighting the severity of his crimes. Chan’s offenses, which included taking indecent photographs of children and engaging in voyeurism, have left a lasting impact on the victims and their families. Detective Supt Lewis Basford expressed the abhorrent nature of Chan’s behavior, emphasizing the vulnerability of the victims he targeted.
Specialist detectives are reaching out to individuals featured in the obscene images created by Chan, further uncovering the extent of his disturbing actions. Chan’s case is not isolated, as another nursery worker, Nathan Bennett, was recently convicted of similar heinous crimes against young children. Both cases have raised concerns about the safeguarding of children in educational settings.
Chan’s employment history revealed a pattern of escalating offenses, with disturbing evidence discovered on multiple devices seized by the police. The investigation team continues to explore the possibility of additional victims who may have been subjected to Chan’s abuse. The full extent of Chan’s depravity is gradually coming to light, underscoring the importance of vigilant safeguarding measures in child care settings.
