“Prince George Embarrassed by Parents at Commonwealth Games”

Published on

Prince William recently shared that his eldest son, Prince George, is just like any other typical teenage boy who feels embarrassed by his parents. George, who turned 13 last month and will soon start attending Eton College, joined his family for a rare outing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

During the family day out, which included George’s siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, the royal family watched a netball semi-final match at the Hydro arena before visiting the Team Wales base. At the base, Louis was invited to update the medal count display for Wales, which he did by adding a “7” sticker over the previous “5,” receiving applause for his contribution.

At one point, Team Wales’ chef de mission jokingly suggested that the children might want to see their parents ride a tandem bike in the velodrome, to which George promptly declined, humorously pointing out that his parents already embarrass him enough. The family also interacted with other Commonwealth Games participants, including bronze medal-winning identical twins Abigail and Emily Roper.

During a conversation with the Roper twins, Kate mentioned Louis’ interest in handstands on carpets, to which Louis shyly responded that his sister, Charlotte, didn’t think his handstands were very good. The children were each given a Welsh dragon mascot toy and Welsh cycling outfits as gifts.

The family also visited the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, where they met the six-time Olympic champion himself. Sir Chris Hoy, who has been battling terminal cancer that spread to his bones, and Kate Middleton, who recently revealed her own cancer diagnosis and successful treatment, engaged in a conversation about the importance of exercise in dealing with cancer.

Sir Chris Hoy emphasized the positive impact of exercise on cancer treatment outcomes, highlighting its potential benefits, and expressing his hope to change attitudes towards Stage 4 cancer. The family’s day out at the Commonwealth Games was filled with laughter, interactions with athletes, and meaningful conversations about health and resilience.
