Prince Harry has revealed the location for the next Invictus Games following a successful visit to the UK to promote the 2027 event. The Duke of Sussex recently visited Birmingham for a key event marking the one-year countdown to the upcoming Games, where he engaged with officials and veterans.

The exciting news shared by Harry is that the 2029 Invictus Games will be held in Daejeon, South Korea, marking the first time the event will take place in Asia. As the founder of the Invictus Games, Harry expressed his delight in announcing Daejeon as the host for 2029, emphasizing the importance of expanding the reach of the event to benefit more wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans.

The decision to host the Games in South Korea aims to enhance support for the military community in Asia and highlight the role of sports in rehabilitation and lifelong wellbeing. Scheduled for October 6–15, 2029, the Games will bring together 550 competitors from 26 nations for 12 sports, with support from 1,100 family members and friends.

Lord Allen, chair of the Invictus Games Foundation, described the selection of Daejeon as a significant moment for the Invictus Movement, emphasizing the commitment to empowering service personnel and veterans globally through the power of sport and community support. Harry, who established the Invictus Games in London in 2014, designed the competition to challenge disability stereotypes and showcase the resilience of wounded service personnel and veterans.

During his visit to the UK, Harry participated in various sports activities at the One Year To Go ceremony, including pickleball and wheelchair rugby. The 2027 Games will also feature a laser run, demonstrating the spirit and determination of the participants.
