D4vd, a 21-year-old rapper whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 14-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Prosecutors revealed that D4vd’s phone contained numerous images of child sexual abuse. The investigation into the case began after Rivas Hernandez’s body was discovered in the trunk of D4vd’s Tesla in September 2025, a year after she went missing.
Los Angeles County prosecutors formally pressed charges against the musician earlier this week. Despite pleading not guilty, D4vd faces serious allegations, including engaging in a sexual relationship with the victim. Prosecutors disclosed that a substantial amount of child pornography was found on D4vd’s phone.
During a recent court appearance, D4vd, shackled and dressed in an orange prison jumpsuit, maintained his innocence. The autopsy report on Rivas Hernandez revealed that she died from multiple injuries caused by an unidentified object, including wounds to her chest and abdomen that appeared consistent with a sharp instrument.
Further examination indicated no presence of MDMA in Rivas Hernandez’s system, with inconclusive results for methamphetamine. While alcohol was detected, it was not a contributing factor to her death. The autopsy report also noted postmortem changes to the body, including partial skeletonization of the head and an absent left eye.
Authorities confirmed that Rivas Hernandez’s body had been dismembered when discovered. Dr. Odey Ukpo, the Chief Medical Examiner, expressed relief that the findings were finally made public, offering closure to the victim’s family and the community. The release of information was made possible through collaborative efforts with partner agencies.
Following D4vd’s arrest, Rivas Hernandez’s father expressed gratitude for the progress in the case, emphasizing the pursuit of justice for his daughter. The ongoing investigation and legal proceedings continue as the case unfolds.
