“Rare Heart Condition Discovered in Fit Woman”

Published on

Denisa Fraser, 33, had been experiencing dizzy spells and faintness for years, attributing them to her lack of fitness. However, during a workplace health assessment at Clevedon Clinic London Hospital in March 2026, she was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a rare heart rhythm disorder. It was also discovered that she had a large coronary sinus diverticulum, making treatment more challenging. After undergoing two operations to address the abnormal heart rhythms, including a lengthy eight-hour procedure, Denisa was able to resume physical activities without experiencing symptoms.

Originally from Czechia, Denisa admitted that she had dismissed her symptoms, assuming they were normal. She engaged in yoga, spin classes, and running, struggling with faintness and rapid heartbeats during physical exertion. Despite these challenges, she believed her issues were related to her fitness level and did not seek medical attention.

The health assessment, which Denisa thought would be routine, led to further investigations due to her symptoms. She was surprised by the doctor’s concerns, as she had always considered herself healthy and fit. A subsequent procedure revealed the complexity of her condition, requiring an extended operation to address the abnormal heart rhythms and the presence of a rare vein pouch.

Following the second operation, which lasted eight hours, Denisa noticed significant improvements in her overall well-being. She found it easier to exercise without experiencing rapid heart rates and felt more relaxed throughout the day. Reflecting on her journey, Denisa emphasized the importance of not ignoring persistent symptoms and encouraged others to prioritize their health by seeking medical advice when needed.

Denisa’s experience serves as a reminder that symptoms should not be disregarded, even if they seem commonplace. She urged individuals to take advantage of health assessments and not assume that age or physical activity level exempts them from potential health risks. By sharing her story, Denisa hopes to raise awareness about the importance of listening to one’s body and seeking timely medical intervention when necessary.
