Russell Brand has been seen arriving at Southwark Crown Court in London to address two new charges related to allegations of rape and sexual assault. The 50-year-old comedian and presenter faced accusations from two women, one for rape and the other for sexual assault. He appeared at the court wearing an unbuttoned animal print shirt, sunglasses, and a large trilby hat.

The incidents in question reportedly occurred in 2009. Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi of the Metropolitan Police stated that the women involved in the case, including those linked to the new charges, are receiving support from specialized officers. The police investigation is ongoing, and individuals impacted by the case are encouraged to come forward with any relevant information.

Brand had previously denied five charges, including two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault, relating to alleged incidents between 1999 and 2005 involving four women. The trial for the initial charges is scheduled to begin on June 16, 2026, at Southwark Crown Court. Allegations include claims of raping a woman in a hotel room and committing sexual assault on a TV worker. The charges against Brand stemmed from an inquiry by Channel 4’s Dispatches program and the Sunday Times, during which multiple women made accusations against him.

Despite the allegations, Brand has consistently proclaimed his innocence. In a statement to his supporters, he expressed his past struggles with addiction but maintained that he never engaged in non-consensual activities, emphasizing his desire to defend himself in court.
