A man from Scotland tragically lost his life in a shooting incident on Canouan island in St Vincent and the Grenadines. The victim, identified as Daniel Vettrino from Dysart, Fife, was fatally shot on Wednesday night. The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) responded to the incident in the Gym Hill area, where Mr. Vettrino was pronounced dead at the scene.
The brother of the deceased, Robson Vettrino Kolberg, expressed his grief in a heartfelt Facebook post, describing Daniel as a kind-hearted individual who strived for the happiness and success of those around him. He highlighted Daniel’s unique qualities and sense of humor, reminiscing about his ability to outdrink anyone.
The RSVGPF confirmed that the victim, a 37-year-old technical services manager from Colombia/Scotland, sustained multiple gunshot wounds. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The Foreign Office has extended support to the family of the British man who tragically passed away in St Vincent and the Grenadines. The family is overwhelmed by the loss and appreciative of the outpouring of love and assistance they have received. Plans are underway to bring Daniel back home for a final farewell.
