Melanie Chisholm, popularly known as Sporty Spice, is preparing to get married at a Country House in Cumbria to her longtime partner, model Chris Dingwall. The wedding location is owned by Ben Forster, a close friend of the 52-year-old singer and West End actor who co-starred with her in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar in 2013.
The couple, who have been in a relationship since 2023, opted for a small and intimate wedding with close friends and family, including her fellow Spice Girls, excluding Victoria Beckham due to her absence at the World Cup final in the USA.
A source revealed that Mel and Chris desired an elegant and understated wedding, steering away from a grand event. The chosen venue, described as secluded and beautiful, consists of a Georgian manor house with six bedrooms and a spacious countryside lawn, perfect for their intimate celebration.
Mel and Chris met on the celebrity dating app Raya, following Mel’s previous relationship with producer Joe Marshall in 2022. Initially reluctant to enter the dating scene again, Mel eventually joined Raya at the encouragement of her friends, leading to her connection with Chris, who was residing in Sydney while she was in London.
Their first date reportedly took place on November 23, with Mel staying awake all day upon landing in Sydney to combat jet lag before meeting Chris for dinner. Mel, a mother to a 17-year-old daughter named Scarlett from a previous relationship, humorously referred to her Raya experience as “boy bingo” while reminiscing about the beginning of her relationship with Chris.
The couple purchased the Country House after it sat unoccupied for 12 years, investing two years in renovating it to create a luxurious retreat. Despite the logistical challenge of their long-distance relationship, Mel and Chris managed to foster a connection that led to their upcoming nuptials.
