A court has heard that a teacher, who was reportedly stabbed in the head by a student, experiences a daily fear of death from the traumatic incident. The 16-year-old accused, whose identity is protected by law, has pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempting to murder Vicki Williams at Milford Haven Comprehensive School in Pembrokeshire back in February. The defendant, who was 15 years old at the time of the alleged assault, is currently on trial at Swansea Crown Court for the stabbing.

During the trial’s second day, Ms. Williams testified that she sought immediate medical assistance post the attack as she believed her life was in danger. The teacher narrated how the student approached her desk on the day of the incident, requesting assistance with his work. Ms. Williams became alarmed when the student closed the classroom door, claiming to be cold.

Subsequently, the student retrieved a large kitchen knife from his bag and struck the teacher in the head, initiating a violent struggle as Ms. Williams attempted to disarm him before he fled the school premises. The defense counsel, Matthew Roberts KC, challenged Ms. Williams’ account, suggesting that the injuries occurred during a scuffle while she attempted to seize the knife, which she vehemently denied.

Despite assertions by the defense, Ms. Williams maintained that she was in a state of shock and fear, focusing solely on seeking help due to the severity of her wounds. The court also heard testimonies from medical staff detailing Ms. Williams’ injuries, including a scalp wound, scratches on her back, and minor cuts on her hands.

Amidst the ongoing trial, the defendant denies the charges of attempted murder, unlawful wounding, and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The proceedings continue as the court examines further evidence and testimonies related to the case.
