A teenage girl experienced a prolonged ordeal lasting seven hours after being forcibly taken into a vehicle in what appeared to be a random abduction incident. The 15-year-old was walking alone on Bradgate Road in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, around 6:45 pm on Monday when the abduction occurred. Authorities have apprehended a 56-year-old man in connection with the case.
During the harrowing seven-hour period, the victim reported being threatened with a knife. She was initially reported missing around 9 pm on Monday but was later discovered in the early hours of Tuesday at a hotel car park in Knutsford, Cheshire.
Following a police alert regarding a specific vehicle, Cheshire law enforcement located the vehicle in the car park of the Cottons Hotel and Spa during the early hours. The teenager was found inside, and a man was arrested at the scene.
Greater Manchester Police, in collaboration with Cheshire Police, confirmed the arrest of a 56-year-old man on suspicion of abduction after the teenage girl went missing in Altrincham on May 18. The man remains in custody for further questioning, and specialized officers are providing support to the girl and her family. Authorities emphasized that there is no broader risk to the public and promised to provide updates as necessary.
The arrested individual, identified as a white male by Greater Manchester Police, is being held for extended questioning following a granted custody extension. The incident is believed to be a random act, with no prior connection between the teenager and the suspect.
