A tragic incident unfolded in east Charlotte, North Carolina, where a 19-year-old girl, Isabella Alexandria Stroupe, was discovered lifeless and bound to a blood-soaked mattress. Authorities responded to a distress call on May 1 at a residence on Yateswood Drive. The Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner confirmed the death as a homicide and arrested Thomaz Kenon Hamilton, 24, who was in a relationship with Isabella and residing with her.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found Isabella in a bedroom, scantily clad and restrained with a tow strap on the mattress. Hamilton alleged that she had a heart attack during a sexual encounter. Tragically, the autopsy revealed multiple broken bones, stab wounds, and signs of prolonged torture. Police confiscated various items, including a bloodstained knife, a baseball bat, a sword, damaged cell phones, clothing possibly tainted with blood, and a mattress with likely bloodstains.
Prosecutors assert that Isabella endured months of torment and was incapable of consenting to sexual activity due to her condition, leading to charges of rape and murder against Hamilton. The suspect was apprehended on May 5. A candlelight vigil, organized by Mothers of Murdered Offspring, was held in memory of Isabella, where attendees shared fond recollections of the young woman who cherished art, literature, and anime.
Isabella’s mother, Emily Stroupe, expressed grief over the loss of her innocent daughter at the gathering. The investigation into Isabella’s tragic demise continues, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
