A cruel criminal deceived his way into the residence of a 95-year-old woman, where he restrained her and demanded her purse, according to law enforcement officials.

The individual entered the premises under the guise of cleaning the elderly woman’s windows. However, once inside, he tied up her hands, threatened her, and demanded money and her purse.

The cowardly thief was interrupted and fled when a companion of the elderly woman arrived at the property, located in Little Hulton, Salford, and confronted him. Police confirmed that no injuries were sustained, and the victim is now receiving support from authorities following the incident on Tuesday morning.

Greater Manchester Police revealed that no arrests have been made in connection with the crime yet, but investigations are ongoing.

Authorities announced an increased police presence in the area in the upcoming days and urged individuals to provide any evidence or information they may have.

Detective Inspector Paul Davies praised the quick action of the woman’s acquaintance who intervened and alerted the authorities, preventing a potentially more severe outcome.

Detective Inspector Paul Davies stated, “This was a despicable incident where a woman was threatened and tied up in her home, and we are committed to identifying the perpetrator.”

He continued, “Fortunately, the situation did not escalate further, and we commend the courageous actions of the woman’s friend. As we continue with our investigation, we urge anyone with relevant information to come forward. Every bit of information is valuable to our inquiries.”

Members of the public have been encouraged to share any CCTV footage from dashcams or doorbells that could assist in the investigation.

A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police emphasized that while no arrests have been made, extensive inquiries are ongoing, and additional police presence will be maintained in the area.

The authorities have collected evidence from the scene and are actively seeking information from the public to aid in their investigation, including any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the vicinity during the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 60s to early 70s, with short mousy brown hair, clean-shaven, wearing glasses, a dark raincoat jacket, jeans, and dark-colored shoes.
