A young man, aged 19, lost his life in a tragic incident where a vehicle crashed into a tree in a serene village setting. The local authorities, including Leicestershire Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS), responded to the scene following reports of a white Vauxhall Corsa veering off Station Road in Great Dalby, part of the Melton district, at around 8.45 pm on Wednesday, May 20.
Tragically, the 19-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the crash site, while the 18-year-old driver was swiftly transported to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries. Additionally, two other passengers seated in the rear of the car were taken to a medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have issued an appeal for witnesses to provide any information related to the collision. Detective Constable Emma Neeves of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) urged anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the Corsa before the crash to come forward with any relevant details or dashcam footage that could aid in the investigation.
