Following a 24-hour search, Sudbury authorities have located a 26-year-old individual deceased in Crowley Lake after his canoe overturned. Responding to the incident just after 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, firefighters, paramedics, and police were dispatched to the lake. The man was discovered around 3 p.m. the following day.
To respect the privacy of the deceased’s family, law enforcement has refrained from disclosing his identity. Initially, it was reported that three individuals were in the canoe during the accident, with two being safely brought to shore by kayakers after the capsizing.
Utilizing both ground and aerial resources, including a K-9 unit, drone, and an Ontario Provincial Police helicopter, officers conducted a thorough search of the area.
