A tragic incident occurred as a 3-year-old boy passed away after wandering away from his home during the night and eventually being discovered near a river.
The child, whose identity remains undisclosed, left his residence in the early hours of Monday, April 13, and was last sighted close to a school around midnight. The specific school in New London, Wisconsin, where he was found was not disclosed by the authorities.
He was located in the river at approximately 7:17 am on the same day and was taken to a medical facility where medical professionals confirmed his passing. Law enforcement officials indicated that they were unsure of the duration the boy spent in the water.
It was suspected that the young boy had wandered approximately four blocks away from his home after his father’s last check on him around midnight. His disappearance was reported just before 5 am, and he was discovered a little over two hours later, subsequently taken to the hospital. By 11:30 am local time, the police updated that the boy had tragically died.
John Faucher, the proprietor of a local store, observed a significant police presence in New London, Wisconsin, following an Amber alert. He mentioned witnessing drones, numerous county and city squads, and highlighted the collaborative efforts of various agencies from neighboring communities in the search operation.
The New London Police Department issued a post on Monday stating details about the missing 3-year-old boy and later updated that he had been found, expressing appreciation for everyone who shared information.
According to ABC2, the child was discovered upstream, and the exact location where he entered the river remains unclear. There are speculations that he might have entered the river near his residence and then been carried by the water’s current.
Numerous residents utilized the police department’s Facebook page to raise awareness about the missing child. Some individuals claimed to have ventured out during the period when the boy was still reported as missing.
